Denis Stamey

Dennis founded Canopy Senior Living in 2013 and has built the company into a diverse collection of communities committed to providing best in class residency choices for the seniors who choose to call us “home”.
Today he oversees all facets of the organization, including companywide operations, leadership of the executive team, community based General Managers and their teams of professionals who are committed to serving older adults with compassion and dignity.
Under his leadership, Canopy has earned a reputation for
improving quality and care services, occupancy and revenue
growth and maximizing value for the assets we represent.
Dennis has more than two decades of experience in the
hospitality and senior living industries.
Prior to forming Canopy, Dennis enjoyed much success as a hotel executive, working for IHG branded properties, followed by a combined ten years with Atria Senior Living and Principal Senior Living Group.
Dennis is a licensed real estate broker with a specialization in senior living communities and hospitality related properties which are suitable for repurposing to senior living communities.
Keith L. Spencer
Vice President, Operations and Sales

Keith has an extensive background of more than 25 years of experience in long term care and senior living. His experience expands over all levels of operations including sales and marketing. During his career he has held positions such as VP of Development Operations, Regional Director of Operations Divisional Vice President and Regional Vice President with various senior living companies.
Along with his devotion for serving seniors, Keith believes in servant leadership. Keith is a solutions-based professional poised to deliver insight, effective leadership and business strategies in areas focused on continuous improvement and process excellence. He places a strong focus on customer service, resident satisfaction, team member retention, company goals, cross-functional relationships, staff mentoring and strategic management along with unsurpassed implementation proficiencies.
Carmen Akins
Vice President, Administration

Carmen is a motivated professional with 20+ years extensive experience in Senior Living, Independent, Assisted and Memory Care. Carmen joined Canopy Senior Living in 2017 as a General Manager and has advanced her career to her current role as Vice President. She has exceptional knowledge of senior living management, community operations, organizational management, team, relationships building, effective leadership with demonstrated skills and comprehensive knowledge of budgetary compliance, human resource management, state guidelines, licensing and regulatory standards.
Additionally, Carmen is a Real Estate Broker, licensed Commercial Real Estate in multiple states. Proven record of successful senior living facility sales, mergers and acquisitions.
Sondra Weeks
CPA

Sondra is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in Georgia with over twenty-five years of experience in finance and accounting. She spent over 15 years in public accounting specializing in audit and consulting for rental real estate, student housing, healthcare, technology, security monitoring services, manufacturing, and distribution industries. She is currently a sole practitioner specializing in consulting small businesses with technical accounting and finance matters.
Sondra earned her Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Missouri State University and is an alumna of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated. Her professional affiliations include the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants. Sondra was an army brat, born in Texas, traveled overseas and then settled in Missouri for most of her formative years. She currently lives in Powder Springs, GA and enjoys traveling and spending time with her two adult children.
